Meet the Mom - Kelly W. - Palm Beach Moms

Where did you grow up:  Philadelphia, PA

Town you live in now: Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Why you love living there: There is something incredibly special about living close to the water, it truly energizes me. We also love our family-friendly neighborhood and the close knit community it has provided. We couldn’t ask for a better place to call “home”.

Tell me about your kids: I have two energetic & smart boys; Vance is 7 and Rex is 5. Aside from their shared love for water and swimming, they are both so unique and special in their own right. Vance has a deep love for learning, reading and exploring the world around him. Playing games is a favorite activity at night, and most recently he has developed a love for chess. Rex keeps me on my toes with his incredible humor and his ability to light up a room when he enters it. His sweet demeanor and love for life is contagious and welcoming. I couldn’t ask for two better boys to raise, I am truly blessed.

Favorite things to do with the kids locally: Ever since Vance was little, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center has been a favorite spot for us. We also love the Jupiter Beach and Jupiter Lighthouse. Most recently, the Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf has provided hours of family fun, as both of my boys enjoy miniature golf.

What’s your ‘day job’?  How did you get started with it? I am a Co-Founder of Crunchi, a toxin free cosmetic/skincare line focused on offering safe beauty. Crunchi was birthed 3 years ago when my best friend and Co-Founder, Melanie Petschke and I were searching for safe beauty options. We were unable to find a brand that met our stringent ingredient standards and performed beautifully. So we decided to start our own! Only a few years later, we have grown tremendously. We are proud to be a brand that empowers women all over the country through our Advocate based program while providing safe options that actually perform!

What is your best parenting advice.  Lay it on us.  This is such a tough question because every child is so unique and each parenting experience looks different. But if I was going to offer one small piece of advise, I’d say, don’t be afraid to ask for help! Parenting is hard and constantly changes as your kids needs change and grow. Having a network and community to lean on for support and advice is vital.

What do you do for self care? I love a good sweat! The Zoo Health Club is a favorite for me when I want to get a good workout in. I also enjoy long walks on the beach as a way to decompress after a long day.

Anything else you want to share?

In today’s world, I am finding it more important than ever to remind ourselves that we are all on our own unique journey and not to fall into the comparison trap. We all want to be that perfectly manicured mom we see on Instagram that looks flawless, has a perfectly cleaned house and is able to juggle everything while simultaneously baking a pie. Ha! My journey may look different than someone else’s and that is okay! It is futile to compare our valley to another person’s peak and vice versa. Everyone’s life experiences and the season they are walking through are unique to them. True fulfillment is less about a destination and more about a deep contentment that comes from within.
