Where did you grow up: I grew up in Cooper City, went to college in Gainesville and then moved to New York City for 12 years. I moved back to South Florida 7 years ago with my family.
Town you live in now: Boca Raton, FL
Why you love living there: Three reasons: The weather (at least for 9 months out of the year – sorry summer), family-friendly activities & the beautiful beaches and waterfronts.
Tell me about your kids: I have two incredible boys. Jack is about to turn 12 and is in 6th grade. I still can’t believe I have a middle schooler. He is smart, kind, inquisitive and loves all things engineering. Nate is about to turn 9 and is in 3rd grade. He is smart, loves all things basketball and can “read a room” like no one can the minute he walks in.
Favorite things to do with the kids locally: We love spending time with family and friends – whether hanging by the pool, hitting up the local greenmarkets, taking our dog, Lucy, to the many dog parks in the area or simply strolling along the downtown streets near the beach.
What’s your ‘day job’? How did you get started with it? I run two businesses. The Wardrobe Refresh is a wardrobe editing service that focuses on updating and building the perfect combinations of clothing and accessories to match our evolving lifestyles and needs. I work with clients throughout South Florida from Palm Beach to Miami and help them determine what to keep, tailor, discard, donate and consign so they can find simplicity in their closets. I also work with clients to set up and manage Resale Management plans for those clothes they wish to consign. Each Refresh is highly customized so the company offers additional services for people who are moving and doing home improvement projects. We Refresh their closets prior to a move, unpack them in their new home and organize their closets. We also work with people doing home improvement projects (e.g. closet build outs and renovations).
Lastly, we also want our clients to look and feel good, so event styling and personal shopping are services we offer. I enjoy working with both women and men to help them learn to love their closets again. Seeing a client take a deep breath and feel like a weight has been lifted from their shoulders after a Refresh session is worth everything to me. You can find more info at www.thewardroberefresh.com
I also run a boutique PR agency, Robyn Elise Public Relations, that focuses on beauty, lifestyle and consumer branding.
What is your best parenting advise. Lay it on us. I always encourage my kids to be proud of who they are and what they love to do. Helping them understand the significance of being leaders and not followers is a priority for me. Oh, and of course, as a parent – I try not to sweat the small stuff.
What do you do for self care? Yoga, date days and nights with Scott, girls nights, foot massages, drinking lattes & rosé when needed and binge watching our favorite Netflix shows.
